Unser Blue Tomato Teamrider Phips Gruber ist vor ort und berichtet euch was in Mayrhofen so abgeht.

Hola aus dem schönen Zillertal! Soo, Tag zwei am diesjährigen Ästhetiker Wängl Tängl. Nachdem uns das Wetter gestern beim training bluebird bescherte, hatte ich mit meinen Teamkolegen Herby Thaler und Michi Stanschitz die Möglichkeit den ganzen Tag den perfekt geshapeten Park, der heuer aus einer zweier kickerline und im Anschluss der redbull endsection besteht zu shreddn.
Wie soll es anders sein, hängen heute am ersten Contest tag dick die Wolken drinnen! Hmmmmmm wie wenn wir das nicht schon geahnt hätten! Naja wie schon bei so vielen Contests müssen wir auch jetzt wieder hoffen das uns das Wetter mit ein bar sonnen Stunden segnen wird! Wie jedes Jahr stehen auch heuer wieder zahlreiche Sideevents auf dem Program wie z.b. King of skate der heute Abend über die Bühne geht. Sooooo ich Versuch jetzt trotzdem mein glück und werd mit der Gondel rauf auf den
Berg fahren! Eeeeeeöööoö Love phips

The elite of snowboarding and skiing is in Tignes, France and will put the pedal to the metal.

There will be definitly some great action when the riders fight for medals in the Halfpipe and Slopstyle..

The Red Bull Upside Down in Linz was held last Friday. Thanks to Red Bull and all the other organizers, the great audition and the riders for this sweet contest.

Here the results:

3rd - Dani Rajcsanyi

Blue Tomato teamrider Marc Swoboda missed the podium barely. But he had a good time anyway and despite his injured shoulder he got 4th.

The second event on the 19th of December 2009 was a huge success! The next Kids Snowboard Day is coming up soon on the 13th of March, and once again, it’s FREE for all kids!
At the Horsefeathers Superpark Planai, the Blue Tomato Teamriders will teach the kids some helpful tips and tricks, there will be free beginners lessons and rental equipment, as well as “learn to ride” test material by Burton, before we finish the day off with a goodie-bag giveaway at the Blue Tomato Shop in Schladming.

2010 seems to be a good year for the Helgasons. We already told you about Halldórs X Games Gold Medal performance. But they were also busy collecting several awards last week.

We are proud to congratulate Eiki for the TWS Readers Choice Award and Halldór for two (yes he won both!) Rookie of the Year Awards. Snowboarder Mag Rookie of the Year 2010 and TWS Rookie of the Year. That’s it but that’s not all. The Snowboarder MBM European Rider of the Year 2009 Awards are coming up and Eiki is nominated for the Male Videopart of the Year 09 with his part in “They Came From…”. Halldór is nominated, for guess what, Rookie of the Year 09 and Factor Films “They Came From…”, in which both got a videopart, is nominated for European Video of the Year 09. Blue Tomato teamrider Halldor Helgason just won the X Games Big Air!

After his first place at the Slopestyle Qualification on Saturday (got 8th in the finals cause he couldn’t stomp all his tricks) and the TWS and Snowboarder Mag Rookie of the Year 2010 awards, he owned the X Games Big Air Event with an undefeatable score.
Halldor pulled a double-cork fs10 and a double-cork bs12 in his first two runs… Two times perfect score of 50 points!

For all snowboard-fans we can guarantee an extended Christmas feast. The Horsefeatheres Superpark Planai opens its gates on the 24th of December 2009 and celebrates its Big Park Opening on the 26th of December 2009 with chilled-out vibes and many specials.

While most of us spent the relaxed times over the summer exchanging snowboards with surfboards and skateboards, QParks took the shovel to extend the set-up in the Horsefeathers Superpark Planai. The complete park-area got bigger, a new 3 laned kicker-line for advanced- and pro-riders has been installed and the whole beginner and intermediate section has been expanded with new rails and boxes.

While over the last weeks we got snowwise a little delay in the heart of Austria, Bernd Mandlberger and his crew guarantee the park set-up of the predominant part of the Horsefeathers Superpark Planai (excluding the pro kicker line) until the 24th of December.

And two days later follows the first event highlight:
From 10 a.m. on the gates of the Horsefeathers Superpark Planai will be opened and the park invites its guests for a common riding session accompanied by the rockin sounds of DJ Truckdriver and the speaker. While mid-morning all riders get the opportunity for having professional pictures taken of oneself at various obstacles at the public Photo- and Film-Shooting. The final material can be downloaded from the website www.horsefeatherssuperpark.com afterwards. To regain energy, at 2 p.m. the rider-specials lunch can be collected at the Weitmoosalm. At different points of time, a couple of Goodies-for-Trix sessions will be going on at various obstacles at which everyone can win awesome prizes from our partners and sponsors.

At 9 p.m. the party folk meets at the Friends bar in Schladming for the Horsefeathers Superpark Opening Party, where DJ tdk will heat the atmosphere with his diverse tunes and let all freestylers turn the night into day.
